HyperX cloud revolver Box contents
The HyperX Cloud Revolver headset comes in a large box of heavy, rigid pressed cardboard with a sleeve of the same cardboard over it. Black and red colors have already become traditional for the entire Cloudline, In this time, there is no exception. All the features of the headset are listed on the sleeve; the case itself, located inside, does not have any inscriptions – only the HyperX logo.
Everything inside the box is neatly packed with foam rubber to protect the headset from mechanical damage, in the middle of this decoration the headset itself rests. Under it is a very modest bundle: a detachable microphone and a cable extension, on which there is an analog volume control wheel and a lever for switching microphone operation modes.
Design, ergonomics, and materials
As you know, all early Cloud models were based on the QPad headset, and therefore they could not be called the company’s developments. They were the same headsets, only with slightly changed details and visual performance.
Now the company uses the speakers they have developed. So the similarity with the previous headsets of the line remains only in the name and color scheme.
The first thing of Kingston HyperX Cloud revolver that immediately catches the eye is the heavily modified headphone design. If earlier in all the headsets of the Cloudline, retractable cups with the possibility of fixing were used, but now the headphone has a rather large frame, and the headband walks freely along with its guides, allowing it to adapt any head size. The ear cups have become even larger too.
The color scheme of the entire headset is dominated by black, which is diluted with several red inserts. There are no backlighting or luminous parts in the headphones.
It means that the company does not want to attract attention again with the luminous elements.
The frame is connecting the entire headset as a whole – both the ear cups and the headband are attached to it. To reduce weight, the upper part of the frame is divided into two thinner bows. But in practical terms, this does not affect the strength of the structure in any way.
The red inserts make the outside of the cups look like jet nozzles. It looks impressive. The rim and logo of the outer part of the cups are covered with gloss. And the HyperX logo flaunts on the cup.
A movable headphone cup
The headphone cup of Hyper X cloud revolver is made of matte plastic, and its edge is covered with gloss. The cups have a small free play and rotate vertically and horizontally, allowing you to find the optimal fit on your head. An important thing is the cups have become really big, my whole ear crawls into them completely, there is still space, and the inner of the cups has undergone significant changes.
According to official reports, the company has installed new speakers inside it.
Signature HyperX memory foam provides long-lasting comfort
The ear cushions of the headphones are made of soft leatherette with a memory effect, there is a dense polyurethane filling, a soft fabric mesh is stretched over the speakers in the cups.
The ear cushions are removable, (the attachment is made at 6 points, and not around the entire perimeter, as it was before) and have a new shape. Therefore the replaceable ear cushions that came with the HyperX Cloud and HyperX Cloud II will not fit the new headphones.
There are no replaceable ear pads in the set, and the great Chinese businessmen have not yet managed to make separate sets of replaceable ear pads, so for now, they will have to do without spare ear pads.
Headband
The leatherette-made headband of the Hyperx cloud revolver fits under the shape of the head and does not put pressure. It also has a frame of matte-black plastic. And the HyperX logo is embossed on the outside of the headband. All stitches are straight, and no threads sticking out.
The wire is not removable and traditionally comes out from the left side of the headphones. It is wrapped in a fabric braid, has a tighter (shallow) weave like the previous Cloud models. And practically not twisted.
The length of the wire is short (only 1 meter), so I recommend you to use the complete extension cord, the length is about 2 meters. There is one 4-pin 3.5 mm composite plug at the end of the wire.
Next to the wire is a microphone jack, after which the headphones turn into a full-fledged headset.
